Description
"Snugs" is a polydactal cat. He has fully jointed thumbs and large paws that resemble human hands. He can walk both up and down a tree. I call them "monkey feet". Some people call these "Hemingway cats" as he had many of these on his property in Key West. Snugs was a 6 month old kitten when I found him starving and dehydrated in a school where I worked. His paws at that time which are black on the bottom were all cracked and split. He obviously lived outside and his feet saw a lot of pavement. He comes from the inner city and probably lived under porches. I brought him home and he gratefully rested for two weeks and healed. Then he wanted to go out. I was afraid he wouldn't come back but he knew a good thing when he'd found it! He has been with us 9 years and is as cool and wild and affectionate as a cat can possibly be. He is King of the woods and wild and a needy little baby in the house. He rules the other two cats and is best, best friends with my dog. They go out together and come in together and play together always. My other two cats are indoor only. So welcome to the land of "Polydactals". Awesome cats they are! REGAL ( note:, there are many multi toed cats but a "true polydactal" has fully jointed thumbs and feet that look like hands as you see here).
